Institutional pricing

Formal deployment for schools, districts, and universities

What institutions get that individual users don't

When teachers (and students) use Process Feedback individually, for free, there is no compliance coverage.

An institutional agreement means your institution officially deploys Process Feedback with a signed Data Privacy Agreement, scheduled compliance audits, and support.

Institutional pricing is for schools, districts, colleges, and universities that require a formal agreement, privacy documentation, or compliance review.

We do not price based on the number of students or teachers. Institutional pricing is based on:

  • Governance (who manages deployment and policy)
  • Data handling (what data we handle and store)
  • Support level (response time and operational support)

How institutional pricing works

Process Feedback does not price by the number of teachers, students, courses, or seats. Pricing reflects the institutional responsibility Process Feedback assumes.

Our pricing concept is:

Price = Deployment Scope × Data Handling Tier + Support Level

  • Deployment scope defines who governs the deployment and who sets policy (e.g., department, school, district, state)
  • Data handling defines what Process Feedback is responsible for handling and retaining (we offer two tiers: Extensions and plugins, and LTI Integration)
  • Institutions select a support level based on internal capacity and response needs

Two deployment tiers

Choosing a tier comes down to a single question: do you need LTI integration and the online tools that come with it, or just the extensions and plugins?

Tier 1 (Extensions and plugins) keeps all processing on the device with nothing stored centrally, so no student data is collected.

Tier 2 (LTI Integration) adds direct LTI integration and the online tools that require governed data handling. Region-specific hosting and jurisdiction-specific compliance are available as add-ons.

Process Feedback offers two deployment tiers:

  • Tier 1 - Extensions and plugins: no LTI integration and no data collection
  • Tier 2 - LTI Integration: direct LTI support and the online tools that require governed data handling, with optional region-specific hosting

Tier 1 pricing is shown in the next section. For Tier 2 pricing, including any region-specific hosting add-on, please contact us. Regardless of tier, all institutional users retain access to Process Feedback's freely available community tools — including the online editor, online compiler, browser extensions, and local dashboards — as these remain free for individual use outside of institutional governance.

Tier 1 - Extensions and plugins, no data collection

Tier 1 is designed for privacy-conscious institutions that do not require LTI integration but are interested in institutional adoption of our extensions and plugins. While these plugins and extensions are free for individual teachers and students and no student data is collected by default, an institutional agreement covers the compliance foundation, such as the DPA, VPAT, HECVAT, and scheduled audits.

Our Tier 1 pricing offers three support levels based on requested response times. These are our 2026 rates and are reviewed annually; institutions that join during 2026 lock in their rate for the full term of their agreement.

What we do not sell

We intentionally avoid pricing models that limit adoption or require surveillance.

  • No per-user or seat-based pricing
  • No usage limits or data caps
  • No tracking of individual behavior
  • No pricing based on student or teacher counts

Regulatory and policy alignment

Documentation for institutional review may include DPA/DSA support, VPAT, HECVAT, and deployment-specific privacy information, depending on the engagement.

No data is sold or used for secondary purposes.

Process Feedback is designed to align with major privacy regulations, including:

  • FERPA and COPPA (U.S.)
  • GDPR (EU)
  • Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)

Start with a one-term pilot

Institutions can begin with a free pilot for one academic term before committing to an annual agreement.

The one-term pilot includes:
